Description

We're producing a new history podcast that explores forgotten moments in British history. Each episode is around 30 minutes and covers a single event or person that most people won't have heard of. The tone is accessible and entertaining rather than academic. We've got scripts for the first ten episodes ready to go. The format is pure narration with no interviews. All recording is remote and we're aiming for a fortnightly release schedule.

Role 1: Podcast Narrator

You'll be the sole voice on this podcast, guiding listeners through stories that range from bizarre to genuinely moving. The scripts are written in a chatty style with the occasional joke thrown in so you need to be able to handle both humour and sincerity. We want it to feel like someone telling a great story at the pub rather than reading from a textbook. Good storytelling instincts are more important than a perfect broadcasting voice.
